Magic Studio allows you to create drag and drop interactive games, timelines, hot spot pictures, etc. The games it creates are very similar to SMARTboard creations. If you didn't have a SMARTboard or Promethian board, this would be a good alternative. It does allow all students to use it at the same time. It was slow to load pictures and put them into the game, but it had one good, but irritating feature. It required you to use Creative Commons or noncopyrighted materials. More sites should do this. This web site created some neat games, but it was not a quick, easy program to use.

This is a timeline I created on American History from 1776-1801.

This is a Drag 'n' Drop. I worked about 3 hours on it and still didn't get it the way I wanted it. I tried switching to Firefox to see if it worked better, but it didn't seem to make much difference. I found out that if you use their pictures, you have to pay for them. I wanted to get the labels to stay on the page and drop the pictures, but couldn't get it to do that. This was a very frustrating program. No directions, didn't always load correctly, and took a long time to load. I would not recommend this program.
